Dual NIC question

I have a Windows 2k PC setup on a domain connecting via the onboard NIC (do
not specify any TCPIP settings)to our network, I needed to add another NIC
to this machine and use that one to connect to a CNC machine via TCPIP
(using SPECIFIC settings), when I do not have the cable plugged into the
SECOND NIC the PC runs great, when I connect the cable to the second NIC the
pc boots slow, logs in slow (15+mins) and nothing works correctly. Any idea
on how I can resolve this?

Please advise,
Thanks.

Go into the properties of My Network Places and click on the Advanced Menu >
Advanced Settings. Check the binding order which should have your network
NIC listed first. If the NIC connected to the other PC is listed first all
your logon requests will be getting sent there instead hence the delay. Also
be sure to disable DNS registration for the private NIC.

Make sure you are only using 1 default gateway. 2 can confuse the system :)
