We are in dire need of setting up two or three monitors
off a graphics display system where we have identical
desktops on EACH monitor that can be utilized as a single
computer system.

setting up dual monitors and extending my desktop to the
new monitor gives me more AREA but I wish to have the
exact desktop on the new monitor. Im using a dual display
plus tv out AGP card, 256 ddr.

I know this can be done but danged if I can figure it out.

Thanks

Depending on what brand/model of video card you have, sometimes if you do NOT
extend the desktop, it will make both monitors display the same thing. When
you do this, it may disable the secondary display - you may need to enable it
to get both monitors to display. For example, an ATI card has a "Displays"
tab under the display properties that allows for this - you may need to
install the ATI control panel to get this, I can't remember for sure.
Also, it may not recognize that another display is attached unless you have it
attached when you boot the machine up.

Another "problem" that I have seen is that often videos will only display on
whichever display you have set as the primary one. For example in media
player or videos embedded into Powerpoint, the secondary display will just
show a black box where the video is playing on the other screen.

When you first boot up the machine, does it display the BIOS and "Starting
Windows..." initial screen on both monitors? If so, you may be able to get
this effect by using the default VGA driver (which is more or less what is
being used during the "Staring Windows..." screen.
