Hi all,
Heres the thing, My girlfriend thinks she may have clicked a button on
the display control panel which now won't show any screen. i know its a vague
discription of my problem, but my question is how do i get into pc to change
it back or is there a reset in the cmos before it logs into windows. it shows
boot screen for windows then goes to a black screen.

thank you

Try booting into Safe Mode and then check the display to see if you can undo
what she 'thinks' she did.

Does your computer have an extra output for another monitor or a s-
video output for a TV? My nVida graphics card allows both an ordinary
computer monitor and a TV monitor connected via the s-video output of
the graphics cord. Some other cards allow two standard computer
monitors. One can set to make the views on the 2 screens the same,
make the view span both screens, etc. You usually select the first
computer monitor as the primary monitor. However, if by accident, you
set the TV as primary, you might have no display on the computer
monitor screen. If you have a second standard monitor output, try
moving your computer monitor plug to it. If you have a s-video TV
output, try connecting a TV to it to see if you now get a screen
display on the TV. If so, it would allow you to view menus to reset
the primary monitor as the computer monitor. I can't give you exact
details, as they vary quite a bit for different cards.
