I have just upgraded to PPT2007 after years of using 97/2000. I have it
running under XP (fully up-to-date). I am experimenting with Dual Monitor
Mode (both with and without Presenter View) and would welcome some guidance.
Firstly, is it possible to reorganise the areas when using Presenter View?
Ideally I would like the thumbnails to be on the left with the current slide
at the right with the buttons below it - I don't need the Notes area.
Secondly, I have tried Dual Monitor Mode without Presenter View - using John
Smart's tutorial (accelerating.org/articles/beyondpresenterview.html) as
guidance. I have the Slide View on monitor 2 and Normal View (with
thumnails) on monitor 1. I can, as explained in the tutorial, move between
slides and the Slide and Normal views stay in sync. So far so good. But
after about six or so slides the thumbnails in the Normal View go blank -
background but no slide. Assuming that this was a video card issue (the
laptop that I use is new) I have tried with/without hardware acceleration -
but no difference.
Thirdly - in either single or dual monitor modes - I find that the slides
display more slowly. If I have bullet points with Appear animation then
there is a discernable delay between mouse click and the text appearing -
something that wasn't an issue in PPT97/2000. Incidentally this happens
with the 2003 Viewer and on a range of machines.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
TIA
