Dual monitor bug

When I right click an item in the folder list the menu shows up on my other
monitor to the far right, which in my configuration is about as far away
from the mouse cursor as it gets. I wonder if this if fixed in the RTM
version.

I don't know about the RTM version, but with my limited experience with dual
monitors, I would open a window and move it to the other monitor. The
window would still be noted on the taskbar on the main window, but when I
opened the window, it would open on the second monitor.

I may not be understanding your exact problem, but have you tried moving the
window back to the main monitor prior to closing it? Have you tried
switching to just one monitor, open the window, and then go back to your
normal setup? I did have mine setup as "Extend the Desktop", if I remember
correctly.

I wouldn't bet on it. It's been a problem in OE forever and in every build of
Winmail that I've tried. It's been discussed with the OE/Winmail team more than
once, but it gets a low priority because most users don't have dual monitors.

I went to display settings and dragged one monitor to the other side of the
other to switch positions of the monitors and the bug does not show up.
I can't physically move my monitors into that configuration because of the
length of my DVI cable (the other monitor uses a longer analog cable).
However, if I change which monitor is the main monitor, the bug also does
not show up.

I've been using dual monitors for years and have never seen this. I suspect
it might have something to do with a peculiarity with your graphics drivers.
I have been using Matrox and ATI cards. I bet you and Gary Mount have
Nvidea cards. There might be something in teh OE/WM code that doesn't work
with dual-head Nvidea cards.

Another thing. I have a vague memory of someone else having a similar
problem with another program (3ds max I think).

IIRC, it was solved by using Ultramon, which can force a program to use a
particular monitor (as well as add a lot of other handy features for
dual-screen use, like a sceond task bar).

It works fine with Vista as I'm using it right now.

The problems only occur if you place OE on the secondary monitor. If OE/Winmail
is on the primary, no problems at all. If on the secondary, right-click context
menus always appear on the primary. I've got an Nvidia card now, but I saw the
same problem on an ATI card under XP.

Somewhere in Nvidia's control panels, there is an option that SETS
where to (force?) open windows and dialogs (popup menus) in dual head
(triple head) configurations.

This does not happen on my machine, or my previous ones. I have WM on the
second monitor right now and it doesn't do that. I am using an ATI card,
and it never happened with my Matrox card either. I usually keep OE on the
second monitor as well.

My Graphics card is ATI, Radeon 9600 Pro.
The problem does not occur if I change which monitor is the main monitor.

The UAC (User Account Control) doesn't appear in the correct spot either,
so it could be a Windows Vista problem, and not the mail application.
