I am about to acquire a Radeon 9800 Pro w/128Mb RAM - will this card drive
two monitors under Windows 2000? One is a CRT, the other a TFT - but it is a
cheap TFT with a standard VGA cable.

If I want to put another card in my PC, PCI card, to drive a third monitor -
anyone know if that will work? Will I be able to spread my Desktop accross
three screens?

Rest of the PC is a P4 2.0Ghz with 512Mb RAM running Windows 2000.

Many thanks,
D.

I know it can be done under WinXP, but not too sure about 2000. I simply do
not have experience with that OS. But my instincts tell me you will have a
higher chance of things not working under 2000 than XP. It seems to be a
bugger of a system for certain things by what I have read. Not to say it
cant however.

If I were you, I would try it under a fresh system rebuild. If your not the
rebuilding type like myself, make a solid system backup first. That way you
can revert to what you had before it went belly up (if it does at all).
Also, I found using a different manufacturer for the second video card will
help avoid some conflicts. Exx..... 9800 pro for monitor1 and monitor2,
Nvidia for monitor3. The idea of the second card is to not confuse the
first with driver issues. Not a perfect system, just advice.

good luck,
sl
