Someone was disputing a while back whether game authors were smart
enough to code games for dual core systems - I said it was basically a
solved problem. Anyway ..

Bye-bye single core gaming systems ..

Some genius is programming a game that can only be used (and therefore
purchased) by dual-core owners who're interested in games? Boy is
that genius gonna get rich quick! Or something.

You obviously didn't read the article.... all it says is that the game
sues multi-threading, and thus dual core CPUs, to play better. It
doesn't say it won't run on a single core system.

However, for your final point, you're clearly unaware of the number of
gamers who go out and buy the latest $500 graphics card with 'Shader
model 3 support' &/or SLI just so they can play the newest game. or did
you think SLI was of some use to MSOffice users?
