I just received my dvd/cd of Vista and wonder about dual booting. Before I
start I want to make sure I'm going to be able to boot either Vista or
XP...will I get a prompt as the installation begins to put Vista on my
system in addition to, rather than a replacement for, XP?

Thanks,
Tim

I did the dual boot thing after upgrade over XP failed. I used a second HD
to install Vista. When system boots, you get a dual boot screen with two
choices "Microsoft Windows" (which is Vista) and "Previous version of
Windows" (XP). You can choose between the two OS. On my system both work
fine. Did have one problem when system would not recognize my MS Wireless
mouse or KB and I could not move the cursor to choose XP (default is Vista).
Solved this by using a generic mouse and KB. I would assume that dual boot
will work on a partitioned disk, but can't be sure since I didn't try it.
Hope this helps.

You will have the choice of Upgrade or Custom Installation. Choose Custom
and then the volume you want Vista on.
