Can somebody please post their boot.ini file. Mine is corrupt and have not been able to correct it as of ye

Hi,

My boot.ini may not help you. In order to tell you what it should look like,
you need to explain how your system is set up. Knowing what partition on
which drive each system resides will allow us to tell you what it should
look like. Can you post your current one as well?

The system has two drives, Win98SE (FAT32) on drive C and XP pro on drive D(NTFS). I am getting the hal.dll missing or corrupt message.

Here is my current boot.ini:

[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows"

Thank you for your response

Not much into this but on my multi boot up..one calls for C:\windows and
the other choice calls for C:\winnt....seems yours is calling for same one
on both. Just saying not sure.

Hi,

There may be nothing wrong with that boot.ini file. You need to concentrate
on the hal.dll error message instead. Please see:
