Hi!

Hello.
I wish to install Vista Beta 2 on an existing XP Pro system but on a
totally
separate hard drive, is this possible?

Yes. When you boot from the Vista DVD, it will eventually ask you which hard
drive partition to install to. It will install on a second hard drive just
fine.
Can I remove the Vista OS when it
expires without damaging my existing XP installation?

Yes, as long as you do not upgrade from XP to Vista.

Be *very* careful that you

1) do NOT hit the upgrade button and
2) select the partition on your second hard drive that you wish to install
to.

This brings up a question that I'm sure has already been asked, but haven't
been able to find the answer to:

1. Partner installed Vista on a separate hard drive, keeping XP on his "C"
drive and Vista on his "D" drive. Has the dual boot option, which works
fine.

2. Partner is now desirous of removing Vista completely, since it runs
extremely slow on his laptop. Reformatting his "D" drive may well remove
the Vista system from his PC, but will still have the boot setup (I think).
How does one go about cleanly uninstalling the Vista product if it was
installed on a separate hard drive?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Download VistaBootPro (you can google it). Use that to make XP the only
booting OS. Format Vista partition
