to vista just fine and see the xp drive all files and directories even the
winnt directory with the subs

but now when i try to boot xp i get the in safe mode it stops load at
mup.sys no errors just stops

I tried to run a replare install of xp i get 0x000007b c0xf78d2524 the other

after i see starting windows

i am think vista change the file rights of my xp install so it can not
access it self or the volume

is there a tool i can use to fix this

any advice is appreaciated and thank you in advance

Hi Steve,

Vista would not just randomly change permissions without you specifically
invoking it. The point where it stops, mup.sys, indicates that this was the
last module loaded before startup failed (and if permissions were changed
you would never get that far). The first error, 0x7b, is normally indicative
of startup losing access to the system partition. You might try first
loading the last known good configuration, and if that fails try running
chkdsk /r from the recovery console.
