Can 64bit Windows exist in bootmenu with 32bit Windows?
(For example: 32 bit WinXP and 64bit Vista?)

Yes but .....

With the same problems you get dual booting XP and VISTA -- that when
you go to XP it wipes out the VISTA restore points?

Or does the 32-bit not do this if VISTA is 64-bit?

Hugh:

Restore points have limited value. A single restore point on my computer is
307 MB, whereas total file space used is 17,000 MB (17GB).

I multi-boot between 2 XP installs, 3 Vista installs and 2 Win2k3 server
installs and I use True Image backup s/w in Vista to do what a restore point
cannot do, namely a complete restore.

IMO, it is very unfortunate that MS used the phrase "restore points", as
they are only for recovery of certain system files and settings, not the
complete install on your computer.

i am dual booting xp and vista, but when my computer boots up, the os
selection screen flashes on then off, not allowing time to select xp if i
want to boot from that. is there a way to change the time that menu is
displayed?

<snip>

Yes, from the Start Orb type msconfig. Click on it when it appears at the
top of the menu. Give permission or elevate it as needed for UAC. On the
Boot tab change the timeout setting to how long you want, say 15 seconds.
Ok out.

FYI next time you might want to create a new thread with your question
rather than asking it as a reply to an existing thread.
