Hi Guys.

Primery IDE
Master. WD 80G in two partition
Drive C: a. 20G old win98se (Active Partition and boot or
whatever is was.)
Drive E: b. 60g WinXP MCE
Slave. WD 180G For storage
Drive D:

A week ago i installed Vista RC1 (new install on Drive C: i chose to erase
win98se but i made i copy of the file in c: drive Boot ini and some more)
and i lost boot menu. I can't boot XP anymore. I have tried VistaBoot Pro and
EasyBCD 1.2. I have tried to reinstall Xp from the original disk and is
stops at first restart not giving me a chose to fix xp. i have format c: and
then tried to run xp setup but no success is stops at the same place.

old boox configuration was:
boot.ini

[boot loader]
timeout=2
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Media Center Edition
(bootscreen)" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /KERNEL=kernel1.exe
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Media Center
Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows 98"

Please Help me if you can and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Big Foot

If you want to start over and reload everything, this is what I would do:

-Make two partitions on the master hdd. Maybe using the bigger drive.
-install XP on C:
-install Vista on D: while booted into XP (called a custom install- I think)
-add the slave later (but that may not matter-- just what I would do)

I am not an expert, but I have been running Vista for a while and other than
a sata mb driver issue at first, I haven't had any problems installing
(knock on wood).

I would like to know is it possible to install windows vista RC1 and I would
like to know if you can run it from HD if you have a dual HD Please let me
know...

Do a search at the top of this page using "dual hdd" and you will find a lot
of information. I haven't used two hdd for the Vista installation.
