I have DUA running on my image; when it downloads a qfe (like Q319182) it
unzips the application (requires end user input) and then it just unzips the
app. I think that I am missing something. I had the impression that DUA
would apply the qfe's and it appears that all DUA does is download the qfe
and tries to install the qfe like a regular application. Obviously qfe's
cannot be installed like a normal application; so then how does one apply
qfe's to an embedded image after it is deployed?

Thanks,

Sean Gahan

DUA is just the agent that downloads commands and executes them. Please
search on "DUA" in the windows embedded platform documentation. There is a
tutorial there on installing an Internet Explorer Update that should help.

Right,
But how do you know what registry keys to update along
with the updated items. I have seen one document that
includes updating the registry but nowhere does it
indicate where to get the name of the key. If you have a
minute check the link and tell me what I am missing.

Sean,
Please contact JonFi at microsoft DOT com if there is a particular QFE you
are having problems with. If you are using the QFE packages published for
Windows Embedded, they should include file and registry information.
