Dtaes on movies

When I recorded my movie on a camcoder it had the date on all the clips. When
I transferred it to my PC with Windows Movie Maker the dates disappear. Is
there any way to keep these dates on the clips for when I transfer it to a
DVD?
It is sometimes useful to know when an actual movie clip was taken.
I have Windows Vista Home Premium.

You need to use third part software, as the date/time etc is now part of
metadata and not written to the tape with the actual movie as it used to be
with analogue camcorders.
