DSum()

I have read alot of the messages and answers on this
newsgroup but am a little confused about the DSum function.
Is it used in a query or in Properties of a form or
subform?
Can it be used with an unbound field?
Thx in advance for any and all help.

control source of a text box, the default value for a text box, an
expression in a query, in code,...
