I'm pretty new to Access, and I just can't get Dsum to work for me. I have a two tables:
Inventory
Material Issuance:
I want Dsum to look in the "Material Issuance" table in the "Lot Number" column for the same "Lot Number" as in the "Inventory" table, sum the quantities for that lot number and return it to the "Quantity Issued" column in the "Inventory" table. From there i'm just doing a calculation in the "Inventory" table to minus the "Quantity Issued" from the "Amount Received" to show the "Quantity Available".
This way I can see a history of the materials I've issued out in one table, and see the available inventory in another. Dsum seems like the best choice (Though i'm sure there's an easier or more efficient way to do this). Can anyone offer any guidance? I've tried and I just get errors.
