I have 3 computer that use the same DSL line to connect to the internet. I
need to use Remote Desktop Connection with one of these computers and it is
using Windows XP Professional. I have assigned each computer with it's own IP
address internally. The router has the only external IP address. How can I
creat a path to just the one computer? Is this even a possibility or does the
computer that I want to connect to have to have it's own IP address for this
to work. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer. Respectfully,

Zach,

Is there a question you want to ask or are you responding to the original

If you want to connect internally, through the LAN, then just run Remote
Desktop and enter the local ip address.

If you want to connect from an external computer then first you have to
setup Port Forwarding to Port 3389 on your Router and give it the Local ip
address you wish to connect to. You may have to configure your Firewall
Software.

Providing the firmware of your router is fairly up to date you should be
able to test it by using one of your other machines on the LAN, enter the
external ip address and you should be able to connect to machine you setup
Port Forwarding to.

Hope it helps!
