My wife an I just got Sprint fastconnet DSL. The problem
we have is if I log into xp under my user name, and check
email and surf the net, then log out so my wife can do the
same, she can not get connected to email or the net. If
we shut down our computer and reboot, everything is fine.
It's a pain to have to shut down each time....

You need to make the connection available for all users.
Go into you network connections window and open up DSL connection icon, you
will see two options:
1. Me Only
2. Anyone who uses this computer
Ensure option 2 is checked.

I can't find what you are describing. I'm looking under
the network connections window, but the only option in
there is "Local area connection2" I don't see my Sprint
DSL listed as an option. What icon do I open from the my
desktop?

It's a DSL modem. Sprint sent it to me. It's a 645

I have a USB BB modem, and to connect, I have a dial up box like using a
normal 56k modem. And open that to connect....

Hi Ted,

Right click My Computer Icon/Properties/Hardware/Device Manager.
Expand USB Controllers/Double Click USB Root Hub/Propterties. Select
Power Management and uncheck: Allow the computer to turn off the
device to save power.

Keep Ras Connection within Fast User Switching
(Line
32)
Kelly what does this do for me?

Kelly,

I did what you said, but it didn't work. We still have
to shut down the computer in-between switching users....
The only fix seems to be turning off the computer and
turning off the Sprint DSL modem.

HELP!!!
