Happy Holidays,

When I start the computer up daily (usually) I used to be able to boot up,
wait for everything to load, click on IE and I would be online. Now when I
boot up, wait for things to load, click on IE and there is no connection. I
go into network connections, right click on my dsl isp and click connect. I
enter my s/n and p/w and click save. I then have a connection for as long as
the computer is on. If for some reason I have to reboot, again I have no
connection and have to connect the way I mentioned above. I've tried
uninstalling and reinstalling the dsl software, I've tried powering up the
modem, whatever the dsl help offered and I am still with this problem. Any
ideas? I did read on the boards about going into device manager and
uninstalling the hardware and then reinstalling it. I was hoping for an
easier solution. Thanks in advance...

Get a Cable/DSL Router such as the Linksys BEFSR41 and it, not the PC, will make the DSL
connection plus there are *many* other additional benefits to such a device.
