My network connection shuts down when I am away from the
computer for more than half an hour. Does anyone know of
a solution to fix this problem. Even turning off the
hibernation function does not fix the problem. The only
way I can get back on my DSL connection is to reboot the
system. Please help!

If you are on a PPPoE connection through a router then you have to configure
the router not to disconnect after X minutes. Read the router manual on how
to do this. If the modem has a built-in router then your ISP has it
configured to auto-disconnect but you can override this "feature" by
re-configuring it.

If you do not have a router then click on Start/Control Panel/double-click
the System Icon/click the Hardware Tab/click the Device Manager button/click
the plus sign in front of the router if it appears as a USB
device/double-click the device/click the Power Management Tab/click the box
that tells it not to shut it down when the pc goes into power saving
mode/click Apply/OK/X the Device Manager/click OK on the System Tabs
screen/X Control Panel.

Hope this helps.
