I have a dell laptop x300 brand new
if you go into display settings and click the settings
tab the computer reboots, everything else on the computer
seems fine, no errors no problems

did a factory reload and updated the drivers same problem

any ideas

Are you sure you haven't asked it to do this..... right click on the
Desktop, select Properties..... in the Settings tab, click Advanced.... in
the General Tab.... at the bottom...... click on Apply the new display
settings without restarting.

no you do not get a chanve to do anything
all you have to do is click on the settings tab
and the machine reboots

you never get to a point to change any settings

Download and install updated drivers for your graphics card (from the Dell
website) and see if that helps. If not, since its a brand new Dell, contact
them. A new product should work! If it doesn't, the manufacturer should
work with you until either it does or replace it for one that does!

Go to the Dell website and download and install the graphics drivers.... if
it still does not work correctly, contact Dell. You state it's a brand new
notebook.... therefore you have your year's guarantee.... keep at them until
it works or insist they replace it.
