Hi,

This is in ref to XP embedded image SP2.

I am trying to push a 256 MB image onto a 512 MB flash.
The expected result should be that the C:partition size should show up as
488 MB or like. But the result of this push is that C: partion shows up 242
MB size.

Please let me know why am i facing this problem.

Thanx in advance.

Maria,

I should probably leave this to the professionals, but I´d like to give it a
try anyway. ;-)

Did you change the Boot partition size in TD to 512MB?

Rob

Maria,

How did you copied disks?
If you do binary copy then you are seeing partition limit set in MBR (first
sector on disk)

Simple work-around would be for you to fdisk partition, bootprep your second
disk and then do file copy from first to second disk.

Hi Slobodan,

Thanks for the work around , but i have already tried this- with Gdisk.
Somehow the partition doesnot expand.
But i am trying once again..lets c if it works...else i ll have to bother
you again

Thank you
Maria

Hi Rob,

Thanks for the help and suggestion.
Actually the problem i am facing is not due to this setting because i want
to create an image of upto 256 MB only- and that is set correctly.

Thanks,
Maria

Hi Maria,

I did not told you to expand partition, but rather to create a new one on
new disk and them move your data using filecopy.

Slobodan

Maria,

When you use GDisk (the binary copy) to save your source disk in an image file you will end up with the same partition table on the
destination disk and therefore the partition size will be the same. This is the reason why GDisk has a warning that you should use
destination disk the same as the source.

You should partition and format the destination media manually and just copy your image over there (not binary copy). Or, at least,
copy only partition content.
