Hi
my desktop has a problem. The PC is telling me that there is a failure to
boot. There is also a very strange repetitive sound. Then the PC asks me to
insert the disk system.
I can see the PC reading files from the disk, then nothing. I have a message
telling me that the system cannot start.
Can anyone help me to sort out that?
Thank you
Best Regards

Sounds like hard drive failure to me. If still under warranty call the
vendor, otherwise a call a computer shop.

What's the _exact_ error message. Different boot messages which are
similar are traceable to separate points in the boot process.

There's not a floppy disk stuck in the floppy drive is there?

Your drive died.

At best you *MIGHT* get the data back off the drive but this is by no
means certain.
