Is DrWatson Postmortem Debugger a legitimate function of DrWatson? Twice this
has appeared in a box immediately following a Microsoft error report. When
the privacy policy link or the cancel button was clicked, the
computer(WindowsXP/SP2) froze and I was forced to shut down and restart. Is
anyone knowledgeable regarding this?

I get it all the time. I use task manager to remove its process. Only then
will the desktop reboot.
 
Dr. Watson is drwtsn32.exe is DrWatson Postmortem Debugger. That is its
only function.

If a program error occurs, Dr. Watson will start automatically.

Dr. Watson is a program error debugger that detects and diagnoses program
errors and creates User.dmp and DrWtsn32.log files to contain the diagnostic
data.

I knew about DrWatson, but why does clicking the Postmortem box freeze the
computer and require restart ?

I have noticed twice in the last month a severe reduction in hard disk
space. On investigation I have found ,on both occasions, a 10gb
Drwatson.log file. Is this a bug with a fix?

drwtsn32.log should be here >>

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Dr Watson\

If you have a lot of program errors, drwtsn32.log will get huge, if Append
To Existing Log File is selected.

Either delete the drwtsn32.log or open it and delete the contents.

Dr. Watson HELP...
Start | Run | Paste this in the box:

C:\WINDOWS\Help\drwtsn32.chm

Click OK.

At the time of the creation of these files nothing in particular had
happened. The file doesn't grow to 10gb, it starts at 10gb.I've tried to
open and view(before I saw the size).Word did not like this file,
couldn't open it and hang the system. Nowadays, if I see the file, I delete.

My hard drive is only 10GB. I's delete it also. :-)
