Drops audio a couple of times when transfered back to DV camera

A 3-minute segmented video with titles and fades (MM2 Project file) when saved back to camera (.avi) I get an occasional drop in audio. Raw .avi plays fine by themselves. When saved as a DSL optimized file works great too (audio, the works). Only when saved back to the camera do I get the drops. Any ideas? I've tried to isolate.

That would be typical of a hard drive issue.... have lots of free space,
defrag the drive, turn off other running apps....

And try the WinDV utility - link on my Digital Camcorders > Intro page

WinDV is a utility that copies a DV-AVI file to or from a digital
camcorder... it uses a larger buffer than MM2 does, so dropping of info is
less.

You would save the movie to your hard drive as a DV-AVI file, and then use
WinDV to copy it to the camcorder.

The task of saving you movie to the camcorder is the most demanding of all
of the video tasks.... so it's not unusual to run into such issues.

Oooh so close, only got one drop after defrag. What is windv ? What else
can it be?

Sorry to keep bugging. Windv keeps locking up on me. Outside the audio issue, everything works good. So I'll just wait until another version of MM2 comes out hopefully addressing buffer issue (if that's it) I don't want "life quality" to start suffering as the result of an audio drop. Of course let's wait and see how long I can hold out before it nags me to see a solution through
Unless of course you know another possible solution.......see it's already starting...
Dell 1.4 Pentium 512ram 40gb 7200 rpm (only using 19gb) HD

Noticed you have a Dell with 1.4 Pentium. I have solved
transfer problems with a similar Dell by installing the
Intel Application Accelerator from Intel (see
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-
df/Product_Filter.asp?ProductID=663). The Intel site
will automatically analyze your motherboard to see if the
Application Accellerator will improve performance before
installing. Also check out PapaJohn's website
http://www.eicsoftware.com/PapaJohn/MM2/MM2.html under
Setup\Hardware.

The Intel Application Accelerator works by streamlining
data transfer to and from your HD through the Intel
processor. Should make a noticable improvement on your
system, and hopefully allow WinDV to run smoothly.

Dave W. You are "The Man" the man, the man the man! Used MM2 after Intel install and it loaded faster and ran smoothly. Great solution I'm thrilled. Might try windv again, although not sure I'm ready for another adventure, I certainly appreciate it's potential
Again you are the man
