Does the sound card (or at least some device) appear in device manager (even
if it has a '!' in a yellow circle)?
If so, download and install the drivers for your card (you do not say what
it is, so I cannot be more specific).
If it does not appear in device manager please reply posting more details of
your system, especially the manufacture of your soundcard, and whether it is
onboard.

Dear Chris
I have looked on the devicre manager under the sound,
video and game controllers tab and this is what it had
under it :
Gameport joystick
MPU-401 Compatible
SiS 7018 Audio Driver
Wave Device for voice modem

None of these has a yellow "!" b" it. I have the sound
card in the pc at the moment but I do not no the
manufacture. Will you still be-able to help as I am most
thankful
Yours Sincerely James Rogers
