drop down with check boxes

I have a form that has a drop down with 200+ items. I have allowed multiple
item selection, however instead of the user highlighting there choices; I
would like a check box in the drop down. Is this possible?

PS
- A drop down of any kind w/ 200+ items is not very user friendly
