When I start to type in a search string a dropdown menu
automatically appears with all the previous search strings
that had been used. I want to delete or erase some of
them. How do I do this?

In Internet Explorer:
Tools -> Internet Options -> Content -> Autocomplete
Uncheck "Forms" and see if that does it

Only reply by newsgroup. If I see an email I didn't ask for, it will be
deleted without reading.

For a method that you can use to delete search arguments that have been typed in to
Explorer's in-pane "Search for Files and Folders" module visit Jerold Schulman's site
at http://www.jsiinc.com, click the hyperlink "Tips & Tricks", and search for the
following JSI Tip:
