drop-down menu in a cell

I have Excel 2002 sp-1 and would like to create a drop down menu in a cell.
The menu will have between 2 and as many as 20 items to select from , which
will then be used in another part of the worksheet.
1. I need to know how to create the drop-down menu.
2. Make sure that selected value can be used in another cell.
Can you help?

You need to use Data Validation.

Select the cell you want the drop down list in and select "Data" |
"Validation" from the menus. On the settings tab, in the "Allow" box,
select "List". This will cause an additional "Source" field to appear. In
here, type a list of the allowable values, separated by commas.

Now, when you select the cell that you configured a drop down list will
appear showing the selected values as options. You can also configure
various other options, such as error messages etc.
