In creating a form, for data consistancy, we want to load over 300 items
into the drop-down list for a form field in a protected form. The data
is currently stored in an Excel spreadsheet. The problem is that the
Excel data is in a continuous state of change. We would thus need to
"link" the data to the drop-down to keep it current.. Cant for the life
of me figure out how to do it as the Drop-down Form Field dialog box
does not appear to have the necessary utility to accomplish this.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I have tried and it is possible to link an excel worksheet
as though it were a table. After it is linked you can
then use it as the rowsouce for the combo box.

Go to file | Get External Data | Link Tables

When the dialog box appears change the "Files of Type" to
Microsoft Excel. The wizard will guide you through the
rest.

The only problem I encounter is that I could not edit the
excel file while the form was in use or while the excel
attachment was open. Since your excel file is in
a "continuous state of change" it may be better to move
the entire file to access and do the updates there.
