Hi, I think I have seen 'fixes' for this to disable this option, but I want
to know how i can enable it.
I am tired of going to various sites I visit to log on and have to type over
and over my email address (or logon name)
On certain sites, I notice that this feature works..... meaning I start
typing the first letter and out comes the one I had typed before so I select
it. But on certain other sites, it doesnt. I think this is called
autocomplete but dont know.thanks in advance

I don't know how to fix your problem other than to advise you to install
the Firefox browser which remembers your login information [if you tell
it to] for all the sites you visit, and fills it in for you
automatically as soon as you hit the page. No typing required at all.

Yes, this is autocomplete. Look through menu options
for / Tools or / Options or / Preferences (or something
similar) in the top window of your Internet browser (e.g. IE.)

(For login names and passwords, I have for 10 or 15 years
maintained a spreadsheet listing all web sites where
registered, displayed by a hotkey. This satisfies all
usual needs to date.)

Cynanthis,
In most cases that is the security feature that the site has installed for
logon to their site, especially financial institutions, and there is nothing
that you can do about it.

But you can check the following:
1. Open IE6> Tools> Internet Options> Content tab> AutoComplete button> Make
Sure that there is a check mark in Forms & "Username and Passwords" lines>
Press OK. Close/Reopen IE, and go to the site and see if it changed. Again
remember the sites' security feature may be preventing that autocomplete
feature to work.

2. Control Panel> Internet Options> Content tab> AutoComplete button> Make
Sure that there is a check mark in Forms & "Username and Passwords" lines>
Press OK. Close/Reopen IE, and go to the site and see if it changed. Again
remember the sites' security feature may be preventing that autocomplete
feature to work.
