drop down box

All my drop down boxes have suddenly become transparent. After I select a
heading (for example: Edit) I have to scroll my mouse down over area where
drop down info should be in order to read contents. How do I fix this?

I've seen this before on a desktop computer that I previously owned.
Eventually it was cleared up by installing a new version of the driver for
my display hardware. Until that driver update was released, I simply
restarted the computer daily to clear up the problem.

If properly drawn drop down menus are your only problem (or other problems
are also related to display issues), check for updated drivers for your
display hardware.
 
If it's only certain drop-down boxes, e.g. Internet Explorer, Outlook
Express, it wouldn't be that you've selected a text colour matching the
menu colour, would it?
Go to Control Panel => Display => Appearance tab => Advanced button and
check what you have selected for Menu in the drop-down box.
