I had a nice drive to deepest Somerset yesterday for the day, round trip of some 7.5 hours. Mistake to go on M3 on International Air Show day near junction 4.

But whats the longest you have driven in 1 day?
I once drove from Telford to Portmeirion, then to Liverpool then back to Telford and finally to Chester!

that is If you manage to get out of Manchester.... then you will be fine Ian!:D Turn onto the M6 Head >>>>South:D

Wigan to Verona (Italy) ... two days driving a coach ... but there were two other drivers. ;)

In the UK ... used to do Wigan Portsmouth Nat-Express & all stops ... then weekends did a 'shuttle' up-n-down to Oban in Scotland.

Used to like driving, then other people started to use my roads, got a bit annoying then. :)

Doncaster to Bristol and then to Newton Aycliffe (Co Durham) on a work job - long drive :)

Itsme..... I have a Galaxy and it's fab :)

Love Gabriella (currently in Lisbon, Portugal) xxxxxxx

PS No, not holidays - working and very hard work at that and I am not teasing!

Hi all

Galaxy = 1.8 TDI - goes like a rocket :)

Lisbon - working 12/14 hour days and have not so much as seen a beach. I did nip to the shops last night at 10pm for a few pressies to take home.

Tomorrow in Sintra if anyone knows it - not looking at the castle and the other lovely sights but doing a heavy duty meeting with I suspect a cast of thousands :) Good job I have an excellent interpreter with me otherwise I would be going mental!!! As for the driving - I am a taxi girl but even that is hazardous with taxi drivers who shout at me because they get lost - like it's my fault :)

Anyway I will be home Friday night, the job will be completed, the client will be pleased and another week starts!!!

Love to you all

Gabriella xx

Take care Gabriella xx;) Shout back to him> Who do you think you are Ronaldo???

To be honest Itsme, it was one of those moments where I genuinely thought the guy was gonna hit me becuase he was so frustrated and angry so I smiled sweetly and said 'I am English'. Shouting etc.... would have probably needed me to claim on my insurance for injury!!!!!!!!!!!

Love

Gabriella xx

Well, I'm never the driver of course, but John & I have done the round trip Dunedin - Christchurch - Dunedin round trip in one day more than once to drop-off/pick up paintings of his from various Gallerys.

That's about 6 hours each way.

Been up to Christchurch via Mount cook once too, not sure how long that is but sure it's not as long as the round trip.

John & I go driving a lot though.

Weekend before last we went down to Oamaru & up over the Dansey Pass. Not sure how far that was, but since the pass road was closed & we were creeping through the ice up the top it was certainly a long trip. Was well after dark before we got home.

Learned something though.
Never knew that John had not seen the high country in person before, he'd seen plenty of piccys of course & thought he knew what it was like, but not the real thing. We were slithering through ice & snow & he was hopping out every few minutes to take photos for painting. It was so funny/cool. Explained a lot though.
You really can't know the high country without going there. It's something in your soul. Gotta take him riding/camping up there when summer comes now I know.
Show him where I came from :).
Have to teach him how to ride though. Need to learn again myself actually, haven't ridden in 18 years. Need to find a station willing to lend us a couple of stock horses too. would never take a lowlands horse up the mountains.
I never knew that he didn't know.
