For some strange reason my PC is not picking up my other
drives, floppy, external hardrive and if I load a dvd into tower that is not
picked up iether.

Help appreciated.

IF you haven`t reinstalled the os , have you tried a system restore ?

Yes but that didnt work.
I did reformatt a few weeks back but all was working then as I had to use
drive to re install some dvd programmes.

os = operating system ( windowsxp )
You reinstalled the os .

Thanks for claryifying, yes reformatted the hardrive a few weeks back but
drives were working ok after that point, then a few days back suddenly they
are not working.
I dont use them often so not sure how far back the problem started. But sys
restore did not resolve the problem.
 
Problem now solved....I had them unchecked on Tweakui.
Dumbass springs to mind, still problem solved.
