I have never come on here and I am not really computor savy but here I go. I
have an exernal dvd drive (I bought it from Dell-samsong) any way, I went
away for a month and now that I am back my computor is not recognizing it.
Also my computor has somehow confussed the drives. When I give commands for
the external drive my intenal (the one that came with the system /cd only)
responds. I don't know what more to do. I have tried everything I can think
of.Please if someone has time give me a hand with this.
thanks

WinXP is notorious for not recognizing USB devices on startup if they are
already plugged in. Startup with the USB device unplugged. After the
computer is completely started up then plug in the USB device then turn on
the power to the USB device.
