I am having trouble with 3 drivers at this time.
I cannot get Bluetooth to work on my hp dv2000t. I reinstalled drivers, and
would have fully functioning Bluetooth, and if I restart it hangs and
windows will not load. I have to boot to last know good working
configuration. Then Bluetooth no longer works and I cannot fix it.

I also cannot connect my iPod. It continues to search for drivers and
nothing. I cannot find any online, and I have installed iTunes and
uninstalled and still nothing.

Today I stuck my memory stick pro into my integrated memory card reader, and
it searched and searched for drivers. Nothing again. SO I looked for
drivers. Found them, installed them, and now all I get is a safely remove
hardware icon in the system tray. I cannot get to the actual device to
remove the pictures or see what's on it. OR DO ANYTHING...

I have been messing with this computer all dang day and I really need some
help. Please if you have these issues and have resolved them, help me too!!

Also if you have no issues and your plug and play devices work fine. Let me
know I want to know if there is something I am missing.

Thanks in advance!

Vista won't be ready for prime time for at least a year. These drivers
do not exist yet. What was your hurry in spending your hard earned cash
on an OS that isn't ready yet?

Alias

uh, but the OS is fine, its the drivers that arent. or did you miss that
whole point?

If it wasn't ready then why is it on the market.

Also I spent my hard earned cash on a laptop that would run it, and got a
free upgrade. but being a person who has to have the best had to buy
ultimate instead. The system works awesome, I haven't had any problems with
running any programs. Just the drivers issues. I think the OS is ready and
other companies who knew this system was coming out, were not. We would not
have the driver compatibility issues if the companies who supply hardware
devices would have their software and firmware up to date. Thanks

why is itunes on the market?!?! what are you referring ot? vista is fine,
software and drivers are not yet ready from some vendors.... dont you get
this yet? is this your first os upgrade?

If it wasn't ready then why is it on the market.

This is the classic chicken and egg dilemma. The OS can't be used without
drivers (and applications) and the drivers (and apps) are useless without
the OS.

A middle ground is targeted for the release of a new OS. It is released when
*enough* drivers and applications are available (but far from all). If MS
(or any other OS vender) waited for all the drivers to be ready and all the
application writers to come up to speed, before release, we'd never have any
new OS.

Chicken and Egg. You do what you've gotta do.

Folks that have been around the computer industry a long time know this.
They don't "upgrade" until *enough* of the drivers and apps (THAT ARE
IMPORTANT TO THEM!) are available.

amen. and in the case of the original poster, they should have checked the
website of the makers of all their hardware/software to be sure there were
vista drivers first.... oops

I was speaking to alias. Not you.
I now know iTunes wont be ready yet.
Other drivers I am speaking of as of now.
If they aren't ready that all I wanted to know. Maybe asking if someone else
as had similar issues, and/or if they are working fine.

Sorry if I am not understand completely what the heck some of you are
talking about. If you don't have an actual answer then don't bother
replying.
If they are no drivers then fine. I am waiting
thanks

Well when doing the upgrade advisor everything would have been in working
order. I am a quick to jump type person, and that's what happened. I will
deal and use another computer that still runs xp pro to use my memory stick
and iPod. Not a big deal. I just figured I was missing something
Thanks for the answers.

Of course not. A lot of third party drivers and programs are not ready
for Vista yet. And you can't tell me that Vista will never have any
updates in the future. Like XP, I will wait for SP2. You be the guinea
pig. I'll watch.

Same reason Windows Me went on the market, to pour more money into MS'
coffers of course!

Minor little thing, right?
I think the OS is
ready and other companies who knew this system was coming out, were not.

Another reason to wait.

If is a big word. Who is at fault is immaterial when considering whether
one should wait or not. But, hey, MS needs guinea pigs like you to test
out their OS. I'll stand at the sidelines and watch.
