(e-mail address removed) replied to my e-mail by saying that I had some drivers
on the comp from previous burning systems. I downloaded a driver clean tool
but it refuses to disable two drivers called Service:CDR4_XP and
Service:CDRALW2k. Has anyone got ideas for removing these drivers.
Many thanks if you have.

Hi rexy,

Do a Search for:

CDRALw2k.sys
and
CDR4_XP.sys

When found, rename them to something like:
CDRALw2k.old
and
CDR4_XP.old

Restart the computer.

Regards,

Thanks Patti I'll do that as soon s I've had my brekker. Its only 7.35 now
and I have to keep my figure up. The funny thing about the burning business
is that I can burn a + R or a + RW but not the - format. I'll try your
tip in an hour and let you know the result. Thanks again.

Well Patti I did exactly as you said. I found them in C/Windows/System
32/Drivers and I renamed them and rebooted. Then I went into
Driver-CleanTool and they were still there under their old name. I tried
disabling them again and clicked on Registry Checker but it didn't work. I
tried to burn a video to a DVD - R and got the same old message again '
Burn failed. Unable to create Disc Structure ' I saved the error file so
I'll send it up to techsupport@nero and let them read it and see if they can
come up with something. I would delete the drivers but I'm not sure what if
any damage might be done. Have you any more suggestions.

Patti I followed the Resolution to Step 10 and opened it. There were 0000
Digital Audio,0001 Digital Audio and Properties. I stopped there because I
was unsure what to do. In the right pane of RE there was no UpperFilters or
LowerFilters.Should I have continued with Step 13.

If the UpperFilters and/or LowerFilters values exist, they would be in the
right pane when {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} is highlighted, not
the entries beneath it.
If the above values do not exist, then yes, continue on with the remaining
steps.

Regards,

Patti I brought up the Upper and lower Filters and deleted them both. In Step
13 I couldn't find Cdr4_2K in Services. There was an entry Cdr4_xp. I think
I've gone wrong somewhere.

No, that doesn't necessarily mean that you've gone wrong somewhere.

Leave the Cdr4_xp key for now, continue with the remainder of the steps
(some or all of the keys mentioned might not exist on your computer), restart
the computer and see if the problem is resolved.

If not resolved, go back to the Cdr4_xp key, export it to Desktop
(right-click on the key, select Export, select Desktop in Save in field, give
file a name in File Name field, then click on Save), then Delete it. Restart
the computer and see if the problem is resolved.

If removal of the Cdr4_xp key causes further problems, double-click on the
file that you exported to Desktop and select Yes when prompted to add the
information to the registry.

Regards,

You're welcome :-)

Keep me posted! I am leaving for work soon and so, depending on how busy it
is at work, I may or may not have a chance to check or reply to further posts
this evening.

Regards,

Followed all that through Patti and tried to burn a DVD - R twice and still
got same error message ' Unable to create disc structure '. I saved the log
file. Would it help if I pasted it here. I think it will be very long.
Thanks and regards.

I've seen the log files and you're right, they are very long.....I also don't
know if I would be able to decipher it well enough to point you in the right
direction.

AfterDawn.com has an unofficial support forum dedicated to Nero products. I
keyed your error message into the search field there, and here is a listing
of various threads that contain reference to that error:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/search/.../www.afterdawn.com/;FORID:11&hl=en&lr=lang_en

You could also register at AfterDawn (registration is free, as far as I
know) and post your question in the Nero forum:

http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/156

Be sure to include which Nero product and version you are using when you
receive the error.
