Hi group

When i plug any mouse on my computer, windows *knows* that it is a mouse,
and genrally *knows* what driver to use.
I have an RFID antenna, and its drivers. I am making an install package
which is suppose to copy the driver, and install it, then when i plug my
antenna i want that windows recognize it as what is it, and *knows* what are
the adapted drivers.
But actually, i am forced to specify to windows where are those drivers,
when i plug my antenna.

how can i do to *teach* windows to recognize what is my RFID antenna.
I think i have to register some .inf files of the driver, or maybe some .sys
files. but i have no idea of how i could register them. I am knowing all my
computer registry knowing every keys where my driver are referenced when
correctly installed. but i don't know how to load the .inf file to make
windows set the registry.

I am searching for a few days now, but find nothing able to help me.
I falling in desparation (is that word exists ??)
Please save me.

Hi,

Are you sure your antenna is plug&play compiliant ?

Regards...

The constructor of the software sell me the drivers.
the drivers are separated in two installer, the first installing the *real*
drivers, and the second (which is necessary to use the antenna from a
software) contain an OCX.

One time i have install the first package (these drivers), i have to plug
the antenna then precise where the drivers are.
from here if i plug/unplug it, it is correctly recogniize.
but if i plug unplug another antenna (same model, same reference same
harware ...) it is not recognized.

Is it plug and play ??
i don't now ... but may be you have the element to tell me if ...
seems to not be plug and play isn't it ??

The second is composed of an .oxc, a .tlb, and a demo application allowing
me to use the anteanna.

I want to group the *real* drivers, and the ocx and tlb files, (but not the
demo soft) in a unique install package, which would allow me to plug the
antenna and don't have to ask the final user to specify where the drivers
are.

thanks for help
