drivers for USB-serial adapter work for W2K, but not XP Home......

the installation steps go identically, but there is no pass-thru from Windows
to the device at the end of the adapter when using XP Home. Any idea?

Have you checked the device manufacturer's website for the latest XP
compatible drivers?
