I recently started experiencing the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE message when
windows 2000 pro shuts down. I cant remember exactly when the problem so I
have tried to go back to the drivers that I was using but nothing helps. I
upgraded the via drivers and the nvidia drivers and went back to the former
drivers. This did not help.

Is there any way to find out which driver or device is causing this problem?
Thanks for any help.

Dan I found a few devices that said no drivers were installed yet when I
checked the driver version a version was there. I reinstalled the drivers
and I am now rebooting the machine. I will check back in a few.

Nothing worked. I am still getting the same error when I try to restart the
system. Anyone that can help please advise.

I used the view hidden devices per a suggestion I received. A number of
them had no driver so I removed them which had no effect on the system nor
the problem. I still get the error message at the end of the restart. I had
installed zone alarm pro and have since uninstalled it. Is it possible that
some files are still left that could cause the problem?

Thanks John
