Hi All
Do yellow exclamation marks in device manager indicate driver problems?
Thanks in anticipation,

Yes, usually means there aren't any....

Thanks Adyweb,
I think the drivers were probably in win98 but not in xp
Cheers

Problem,
Have disabled on-MB sound card and re-installed new one with driver CD. Message is 'Device cannot start (Code 10)', with yellow exclamation mark in device manager. I was given this card and driver, maybe the driver cd is not the correct one. Other cards have installed without any problem.
Must be easier to buy a new one!

drivers

Hi All
May be able to answer my own question. Update driver search does not like floppies and CDs with loads of drivers on. You have to pick out the correct driver and copy to C. This is probably rubbish!

Older 'equipment' is not always kept up-to-date with drivers for XP ... go to the website of the manufacturer, if they have drivers good, if not, buy a new card.

Hello Muckshifter,
Manged to pick out a driver for a network card from a supplied floppy. Addhardware would not pick it from A:. I copied a win 98 file from the floppy and this did the trick. I can connect to Outlook Express on this computer but Internet Explorer has a missing file, so cannot download drivers. Can Internet Explorer be repaired by downloading a fix on another computer?
Regards
