Are you sure there is no way to enforce driver signing??? Cause ive somewhat
done it. Do This:
Open a command prompt as an administrator.
If you don't know how to do this, go to Start->All
Programs->Accessories->Command Prompt. Right-click it and select "Run as
administrator"
Run the following command: bcdedit /set testsigning on
You may need to substitute -set into the command

Now this is a AS IS post, im not too sure on what drawbacks it has, but i
was able to install that illusive Coxenent Audio driver as easy as pie. It
DOES disable driver enforcement!!! YAY!!! Ive used it for 2 months now with
NO problems. By the way im running RC1. But also dont use F8 option after
doing this. There is one drawback it though. It does put little "Test Mode"
icons on the 4 corners but like the build version already there it is not a
problem. Please let me know if this works for you, also if you dont like it
just change Testsigning ON for Off. Bye

I've had conexant audio working for 2 months. Just let windows update do the
d/l and install.

That may not work in the rtm version of x64. I think they have turned on
the driver signing check in the 64bit rtm version.

I just got a game called 1701 (JoWood). It installs on x64 just like it
does on x86 but will not run on x64 due to an unsigned driver. That is the
error message. The driver does not install during setup. The devs even
provide the driver in the support folder on the cd but it simply reports
that an unsigned driver cannot be installed.

It happens that it is the copy protection driver (all this is stated in the
error message). On the website the devs state that they checked out the
game on 32bit Vista and assume that it will work on x64 as well. In other
words, they went through an entire development process for a game released
this close to Vista launch and never once tried it on Vista x64 rtm. The PM
should be fired for that one.

The game works just fine on XP Pro x64 so bitness is not an issue.

At least yours didn't load. I had one load and then the system wouldn't
start the next boot because of it. Incidentally, everything went wrong with
the attempted install of Roxio EMC8 on Vista64. Ended up having to do a
complete reinstall.
