Windows Vista is not recognizing a driver for the "XBOX 360 play and charge
USB device" (for the gamepad). Though the wireless gamepad works with my
desktop system (for games like Crysis), I can't get it to connect through the
play and charge wire.

-The XBOX 360 Play and Charge is a wired USB device that connects to an XBOX
controller and charges the battery (for future wireless play) while allowing
one to play video games.

Summary: I bought an XBOX 360 Wireless controller today and installed the
proper 64 bit software package for it on my Windows Vista Desktop. My goal
is to use this gamepad to play video games on my computer. The Wireless
Package works fine, but I'm having problems with the "Play and Charge Driver"

I found the answer to my question (though XBOX tech support didn't even know
what a Driver was).

The play and charge kit doesn't transfer information even when used with an
xbox360 console. It is soley used for the purpose of being a power cord.
While one is using the play and charge kit, one is still transmitting the
gaming controls signal wirelessly.

Most confusing post ever.
