Hi folks,

my notebook has a Mobility Radeon 9200 graphics chip. I would have like
to have installed the latest Catalyst driver, but Windows complains that
the driver wouldn't fit. ATI suggests to look a the manufacturer's
website for the mobile solutions, but the drivers by HP are quite out-
of-date. Do you recommend me to install the "Desktop" Catalyst? What
about the power saving features then?

Thnx, Johannes

Go to www.omegacorner.com and download the Omega Catalyst driver, it is a
modified version of the original Catalyst but with better image quality and
it supports Mobile Radeon cards as well, do a search on google for
"mobilemod ATI" and mod the original Catalyst driver or if you know a little
about drivers mod them yourself!

Ok, but do you know if those modded drivers support the power saving
issues. This is quite important to me.

They do with my Mobility Radeon 9000 (more or less the same as yours). Just
get the latest official drivers from ATI and use something called Dhmodtool
1.2 on those driver files before you install them and everything should work
fine.

can I use this for the mobility firegl 9000?

As far as I know, yes. I hanven´t tried it but I can´t see any reason why it
shouldn´t work.

I installed the drivers ok. How do I adjust openGL settings? There
is no tab for openGL. There is a tab for Direct3D

can someone help?

TIA
