I have an occassional problem during the boot sequence where I receive a bsod
(I don't have the codes to hand).
It's a very infrequent occurance so not of general concern but when it
occurs it always does so at the point where my speakers 'pop' - I assume as
the soundcard drivers are activated (I haven't traced it in bootlog yet). At
this point, whether the boot sequence continues or I get a bsod there's a
slight flicker of the Windows XP screen.
I've never had the bsod once the machine is up and running (even after
extended and heavy use) so I don't think there's a hardware fault as such.
The odd glitch at boot up isn't really a problem, I just wanted to check out
whether it might be a hardware fault that could damage something or just a
timing issue or 'one of those' things, inconvienient but harmless.
