I've just installed Vista Beta 2 build 5384. I downloaded the Creative's
driver from the official site (www.creative.com) but they don't work. Windows
says that it can't install the driver because there is a problem... and I
can't hear any sound!
On the other partition I have Win XP Pro and there are no problems.
HELP ME!!!!!!!

Alex,

I installed the Creative drivers for Audigy 2 ZS - no problem. Did you get
the Vista Beta drivers?

''This download is a beta driver providing Microsoft® Windows® Vista 32-bit
and 64-bit Beta Build 5231 support for Show Details... "

Point taken - I used it on Vista 5384 32 bit

Yes, note the build number. Doesn't work with the current beta 64x
offerings.

I used the 2.08.0004 drivers for Windows XP Prof. The beta drivers do
install in x86 but would only work in stereo or 2.1 for me.

2.08.0004 installs the Audio Console which enables the full range of
speakers to be installed (in my case 5.1). Note: change the bit rate to 24.
I got them working on the 5384 build for x86 and x64. The 2.08.0070 drivers
also work for x64 downloadable from www.station-drivers.com

Creative's drivers will "eventually" work; try (re)installing them 2 or 3
times. Also, if necessary, try unzipping them and run directly from the
drivers folder !. Click option to delete existing drivers when requested.

Good luck

Brian

I'm using the X-Fi drivers on my Audigy 2 ZS on x86. I extracted the driver
files from their setup program using WinZip, and then pointed the Device
Manager at them.

Creative's setup program is frankly garbage.

Failing that the Windows XP drivers should work, again I'd recommend
extracting the drivers and letting Windows install rather than Creative's
setup program.

If you're using x64 you'll need to disable the driver signing check each
time you boot Windows.

Turning off driver enforcement each time you load windows will allow the
Audigy drivers to work.....I found this a bit of a pain and so downloaded
this little prog that automatically does it for you.

Using this program I have now got ALL of my hardware installed, even those
ones where I have used the Win Xp Pro X64 drivers.
Hope this helps!!!

Under Beta 2 you could also use VistaBoot Pro(from Pro-Networks), or a
command line switch to disable mandatory driver signing on x64. They
disabled those options under 5472...so we should all keep harrasing Creative
to get some signed/working drivers out there...
