Does an ATA133 drive report back as that as it shows up as ATA 66 in the
BIOS preamble ?

I've bought what is shown on my receipt as a Maxtor 80gb ATA133 drive and I
need to know if there is a way to check this.

Many thanks,

Richard Brooks.

The listing on the black bios screen at boot time shows what is being
used, not the best the drive is capable of in a system that can do that.

Dont worry about it, if its listed as ATA133 on the
Maxtor web site for that model, thats what it can
do when the controller and cable is suitable.

Thanks for that! I thought it was some sort of drive ROM report.

Richard.
