Hi All,
This is driving me nuts. I got a new machine, call it B. I want to get a
bunch of files off of the old machine, call it A. A only has a C: drive.
I set both machines up with the same user ID and password. Both are members
of WORKGROUP. Both of these machines are at home and are connected to the
same router. A used to be on a domain but I removed it.
I shared the C: drive on A as net share cdrive=c:\. That succeeds. I can
use the share from B as net use g: \\A\cdrive. That also succeeds. Now,
on B, I can dir g:\ and see all of the foldeers on A - but strangely, no
files. If I try a dir g:\afolder, I get access denied.
I've been doing this sort of stuff for years and can't figure our what's
wrong here.
Thanks for any help,
- Arnie
