Drive Order

I Don't know hoe this happen but my drive order changed to
My Desktop
31/2 Floppy (B:)
DVD-RAM Drive (D:)
Removable Disk (E:)
Removable Disk (f:)
Removable Disk (G:)
Removable Disk (H:)
D on "Hughserver" (J:)
F on "Hughserver" (k:)
G on "Hughserver" (L:)
Control panel
My Sharing Folders
Windows (C:)
How do I get C: back to the top of the list.
When I open Winzip or other programs the correct path is
no longer there and I Have to type it in manually or
sometimes save to desk top then go into exeplorer and manually
move the file. this is time consuming not to mention a real pain.
Please Help.

You seem to have two problems - doubtful one is related to the other.

The first is the view you have your explorer in. Sounds like you have "Show
in Groups" off and "Arrange Icons by Type" selected. Play with the "View"
menu - particularly the "Arrange Icons by" part of it in Windows Explorer/My
Computer until you get what you want. I like "Show in Groups" enabled and
"Arrange Icons by Type" personally...

Your second problem - I am unsure I understand what is going on. You
mention WinZip specifically - have you uninstalled/re-installed it?
Contacted their technical support? Checked that you have the latest
version?

What other information can you give? Windows XP what? (Home, Professional,
Media Center, Tablet PC, x64, etc...) What service pack? When did this
last work as you think it should (and how do you think it should work?)
Only you can see your issues and explain them to those of us that cannot see
them. ;-)
 
Search Google groups for "default folder order". many versions of the
same answer on first page.
